Home & Garden Show features a house made of balloons, kid’s activities, senior expo and more

March 3, 2016

Clyde Nettles, Inc. presents the 50th Annual Carolina Classic Home & Garden Show at the SC State Fairgrounds Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13, 2016. The show is hosted by the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina (BIA).

The Carolina Classic Home & Garden Show is the largest home and garden exhibition in the Midlands and will feature over 200 construction, home improvement, and outdoor products exhibits in the Goodman, Cantey, and Ellison Buildings plus outdoor areas. And if that’s not impressive enough, the organizers have plenty of special features lined up this year.

Attendees can learn more about remodeling and new home construction by attending free seminars offered each day of the show. There will also be many prize registrations and giveaways each day of the show. Exhibitors are offering over $50,000 in prizes and special offers during the show! The BIA is marking their 50th anniversary show by giving away a 50” television each day. Many other exhibitors have prizes involving the 50th anniversary theme. Learn more at BIAofCentralSC.com.

Opening day is Senior’s Day.  Attendees age 62 and older can attend the show on Friday, March 11 at no charge.  Plus, there’s a Senior Expo being held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day with special exhibits for our guests.

Make sure to visit the Ellison Building to see the Balloon House presented by Great Southern Homes.  The balloon artists of Balloonopolis have built a house and garden features completely out of balloons! On display all weekend.

Kids 14 and under enter the show at no charge every day, but Saturday, March 12 is full of special features just for them. First, Essex Homes brings The Game Truck to the show from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Kids of all ages can play the latest video games in a comfortable, friendly environment. Balloon artists from Balloonopolis will be on-site from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. making creations for the kids. The Lowe’s Kids Clinic is open Saturday at Noon and 3:00 p.m. The first 50 children at each clinic can build a special project to take home. Finally, visit the Executive Construction booth in the Goodman Building on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for free face-painting!

Sunday, March 13 is the final day of the show. See the Balloon House sponsored by Great Southern Homes in the Ellison Building and get a creation of your own from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Lowe’s Kids Clinics are open on Sunday at Noon and 3:00 p.m. as well. Also planned for Sunday is the SC Grown Market featuring local vendors of SC Certified Grown products.

Every day of the Home & Garden Show is a great day to visit as there will be over 200 exhibitors in all areas of home building, remodeling, gardening and more. Plus, you can attend free educational seminars on a variety of subjects.
