How To Fall Back In Love – Whether It’s With Your Job Or Your Wardrobe

No matter how much you love your job or your wardrobe it’s not all sunshine and roses.
Even people who love what they do, or have spent years cultivating their ideal wardrobe have days or weeks when everything feels like a rut. That’s because we all get burnt out and experience periods of frustration or dejection with routine aspects of our lives, but you can take steps to reignite the passion and satisfaction you once derived from them. Here are a few suggestions from experts that work just about any area of your life that could use a little rejuvenation:
1. Recognizing there is a problem is the first step. This is often one of the toughest parts about breaking out of a rut because for most of us we get use to be unhappy, without ever really acknowledging why. This could lead to prolonged periods of dissatisfaction that will inevitably bleed over into other aspects of your life, or cause you to take extreme reactionary measures that leave you worse off than before.
2. Action is required. A lot of people think these low points will pass if you just wait it out and keep plugging along, but that isn’t the case. You have to actively engage in being happy. That doesn’t mean having this elaborate A-Z action plan. Small, random acts that make you happy in the moment or even just thinking about what you would like to change can be enough to start the ball rolling.
3. Track your feelings. We all know there are peaks and valleys in our days when we are more positive and have higher energy and times when we are more disgruntled or short-tempered. This is also true with our wardrobes. Jot down how you feel when you wear different types of clothes to find what brings you the most happiness and motivation. Once you know your elevators you can use them to your advantage.
4. Tweaking is better than abandonment. When we’re dissatisfied with our current norm it’s easy to think going in the opposite direction or completely changing jobs are the answer, but that’s not necessarily the case. Often times all we need are a few adjustments to create a big impact. Whether it’s seeking out new challenges or making small changes to our wardrobes like color, fit or brands subtle changes are easier to accomplish and can have a big impact on our happiness.
Nothing is ever fun and exciting all the time. That’s part of life, but if you are finding you’re more unhappy than happy with certain aspects of your life then it’s time to make some changes, just make sure they aren’t overreactions or you could end up feeling worse and not better.
