InnoVision Hosts “Funding Innovation in South Carolina” Forum Thursday in Greenville

GET Interactive receives $200,000 in funding from SCRA’s SC Launch!® at InnoVision Forum
COLUMBIA, SC –  July 17, 2008 – The InnoVision Forum will be held today at 3:00 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel, 45 W. Orchard Park in Greenville. This panel discussion is valuable to both start-up companies and established businesses. The InnoVision Forum is hosted by Tatum, presented by McNair Law Firm and its Founding Sponsor Deloitte®. The Forum is designed to provide insight into the perceptions and expectations in finding funding sources. 

Topics will include:
• Angel capital
• Venture capital
• Small business loans
• Corporation structure
• Growing a successful business
• Funding expansion into new markets
• Business plan success factors

Panelists will discuss items that their organizations look for in regard to the topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

At the conclusion of the InnoVision Technology Forum at 5:00 p.m., SCRA affiliate SC Launch! will hold a “big check” ceremony for GET Interactive., co-hosted by NEXT, the portal to entrepreneurial support organizations serving high impact technology ventures in the Upstate . SC  Launch! has identified GET Interactive as a promising South Carolina start-up company and is assisting the company with a seed-capital investment, ongoing mentoring and SC Launch! Resource Network services.

SC Launch! has provided 53 companies with seed funding in the form of grants, loans or equity investments and provided counsel and support to more than 80 start-ups. The average salary of jobs created to date by these start-ups is $77,000. Additionally, SC Launch!-supported companies have to date secured more than $42 million in follow-on venture capital and private equity financing.
