iTs|SC, Columbia’s Insurance Technology & Services Cluster, has graduated its largest-ever class from its signature Leadership Insurance program, created to develop the local insurance industry’s next generation of up-and-coming company and community leaders. The class of 15 included employees from BlueCross BlueShield of SC, Capgemini, Duck Creek Technologies, Seibels and Software Specialists, Inc.

Facilitated by top regional experts, participants in the 8-month program learn about all facets of the insurance industry while developing leadership skills and significant connections across companies. In addition, the group works together to complete a project to address regional challenges.

For the class’s group project, participants produced a video promoting Columbia’s status as a national epicenter for insurance technology, featuring top company leadership. Notably, Columbia has some of the nation’s highest concentrations of companies and employment in insurance and related technologies, and its long history of innovation and entrepreneurship has created an industrial backbone for the region.
