James “Bonecrusher” Smith Will Attend Dent Boys & Girls Club Peer Leadership and Career Awareness Training
June 11, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – June 11, 2009 – Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is pleased to announce a partnership with the US Army for a Peer Leadership and Career Awareness Training at the Dent Middle School Boys & Girls Club location. The training session will feature James The Bonecrusher Smith, a former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion.
WHEN: Saturday, June 13, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Dent Middle School Boys & Girls Club Unit, 6905 North Trenholm Road
WHAT: The leadership training is free and open to teens ages 14-18. The event will focus on problem solving, refusal skills, mentoring, community service, teacher appreciation, family involvement and career awareness. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is the positive place for kids, and this effort is just one part of the many programs designed to encourage kids and teens to make positive choices to lead to rewarding careers. Of course, teens will be entertained by James Smith’s encouraging message.
