Jefferson Awards Foundation announces Media Partnership with WACH FOX
March 29, 2016The Jefferson Awards Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a culture of service across America, announced today that WACH FOX, part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, has signed on to be the newest Jefferson Awards Media Partner, joining 80 other media outlets around the country that currently partner with the Jefferson Awards to highlight outstanding service in their communities.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Gini Resnick with Sinclair Broadcast Group will be joining the JAF South Carolina statewide Board of Advisors. Sinclair is the owner of WACH.
“We are thrilled to partner with WACH in the Midlands and have Gini join our board,” said chair Ben Porter. “WACH is dedicated to celebrating volunteerism and public service in our community and Gini brings with her a wealth of expertise and a passion for JAF’s mission. She will be a huge asset in helping drive our organization forward in 2016 and beyond.”
Mrs. Resnick oversees the development of non-traditional revenue with Sinclair’s newer acquisition markets from coast to coast. Based out of Columbia, SC, she has direct access to all the Sinclair Jefferson Award Media Partner stations throughout the state of South Carolina and throughout the company. Mrs. Resnick has over years of broadcast television, digital marketing, and market research experience and has been working with the Jefferson Awards Foundation for the past three years to onboard new Sinclair media partners throughout the country.
Mrs. Resnick joins the Jefferson Awards Foundation board in South Carolina during a period of exponential growth within the organization’s long history. The Jefferson Awards’ flagship youth service-learning and leadership development program, Students In Action, has expanded to more than 60 high schools throughout the state, and Spring Hill High School in Chapin was the 2015 recipient of the Jefferson Award for Most Outstanding Students In Action School from South Carolina. Additionally, the Jefferson Awards partnered with United Way of the Midlands, the Richland Library, and EdVenture Children’s Museum in 2015 to collect and pack “Dream Boxes” of school supplies for over 400 middle school students in Richland School District One. The Midlands committee of the Jefferson Awards board in South Carolina, which Resnick will be serving on, provides governance for these programs across our region.
“The Jefferson Awards Foundation remains committed to its mission of building a culture of service by honoring local heroes through WACH while cultivating the next generation of Midlands leaders through Students In Action,” said Heather Love, the South Carolina State Director of the Jefferson Awards. “The addition of an experienced and dedicated individual like Gini to our board is further demonstration of our foundation’s growth and dedication to fulfilling this mission in the greater Columbia area.”
