LEXINGTON, SC – During a special called board meeting on Thursday, June 15, 2017, the board approved the hire of Jim Jett for the position of construction coordinator for the 2017–2018 academic year. He replaces Bill Jennings, who retired at the end of this school year.

Jett served as project superintendent for M.B. Kahn Construction Company, Inc. and supervised M.B. Kahn construction projects in Lexington District One including the construction of Deerfield Elementary, Rocky Creek Elementary, Forts Pond Elementary and other schools — as well as many other educational facility projects across the state.

Jett attended Miami-Dade Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with an emphasis in construction project management/engineering from Clemson University.

He holds professional certifications as an engineer in training and a certified erosion control inspector.
