Behavior Interventionist

Under the supervision of the QA and Special Supports Coordinator, the Behavior Interventionist provides behavior support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, performs behavior assessments and analysis, works with staff, the people supported and their family and friends to develop behavior support plans and strategies, monitors for progress and revises when progress is not being made, trains staff to implement behavior support plans and collect data.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to utilize Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, OneDrive. Must be able to model and implement behavior strategies to support staff and the people we support who struggle with behavior. Must exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people, strong organizational skills, and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, the people we support and their families. Requires handling of average weight material or equipment but not for sustained periods. Traveling among settings is required. Ability to provide crisis intervention assistance to staff. Ability to think both analytically and creatively and have the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and staff.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, or related discipline required; extensive knowledge of positive behavior supports preferred.
Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience providing behavioral support required.
Rate: $52,000.00
