John A. Martin Primary Heath Care Center joins Prisma Health to increase offerings to patients

January 24, 2022

The John A. Martin Primary Health Care Center will join Prisma Health, beginning Monday, January 24, and will be known as Prisma Health Family Medicine – Winnsboro. Patients in the Winnsboro community will have increased access to a multitude of resources and offerings available through Prisma Health, in addition to the personalized primary care they will continue to receive from their trusted healthcare clinicians. All current providers will be staying with the practice as it transitions to become a Prisma Health practice.

“We are excited for the opportunity to join Prisma Health to strengthen our services for our patients. Prisma Health is South Carolina’s largest healthcare provider, which will enhance our patients’ experience at our practice close to home, and ensure they have access to a variety of specialty resources within the larger system,” said Charles McElmurray, M.D., who has been with the practice since 1992. “Our team of dedicated physicians and our commitment to addressing our patients’ medical needs will remain the same.”

Prisma Health is committed to support the health of rural communities across the state of South Carolina and welcomes the physicians, care team and patients of this established practice serving Winnsboro.

“Expanding our network to Winnsboro allows us to expand our outreach and healthcare offerings to a greater number of patients in the Midlands region,” said Jamee Steen, M.D., chair of family medicine for Prisma Health in the Midlands. “We hope to continue to aid the community by providing patients access to trusted and experienced clinicians and resources available to Prisma Health practices.”
