Keep Charleston Beautiful hosts 12th Annual Green and Lean 5K

Keep Charleston Beautiful (KCB) will host the 12th Annual Green and Lean 5K on Saturday, May 13th to benefit Friends of Keep Charleston Beautiful, whose mission is to promote the cleanliness and beautification of the City of Charleston through education, public awareness and community involvement. The USA TF certified 5K begins 8:30 a.m. at Brittlebank Park, follows a scenic route around Hampton Park, past the Citadel, and ends back in Brittlebank Park. This is a family friendly race and everyone is welcome, including children in strollers and leashed dogs.

Clara’s Tot Trot will immediately follow the 5K for children ages 2-10 years old. Registration is free and includes a Tot Trot youth shirt, race bib, and runner’s ribbon. Runners age 2-5 are eligible to compete in the 50 yard dash, while runners ages 5-10 can compete in the ¼ mile Tot Trot.  Upon completion of the race, Tot Trot competitors are invited to cool down with a free ice pop.

A Silent Auction will take place before and after the race, where attendees will have the opportunity to bid on dozens of items donated by local organizations. Cash, checks, and cards will be accepted.

Those not interested in running the Green and Lean 5K are invited to volunteer and help support the mission of Keep Charleston Beautiful.
