Lexington One hires Heap

LEXINGTON, SC – At a Special Called Board Meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees held August 8, 2014, the board approved the administration’s recommendation to name Bryan E. Heap assistant principal at Gilbert High.
Heap has 13 years of education experience and most recently served as dean of students at Downers Grove South High in Illinois.
He began his career in 2001 as a social studies teacher at Plainfield High in Illinois. In 2005, he also served as the director of summer school. Heap was promoted to dean of students at Plainfield High in 2006. He transferred to Downers Grove South High in 2008 as dean of students.
Heap earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in educational administration from the University of Saint Francis. He has social studies and administration and supervision certifications.
He is a member of the Illinois State Deans’ Association and Illinois Principals Association.
