Lexington One promotes Rabon to Director of FOCUS

LEXINGTON, SC – At the June 16, 2015 regular monthly meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board approved the promotion of Christopher N. Rabon to the position of Director of FOCUS, the district’s alternative learning program.

Rabon, who currently serves as assistant principal at Lexington High School, has 16 years of educational experience.

He began his career teaching English at Swansea High School in 1999, where a few years later, his peers chose him to be their Teacher of the Year.

He joined Lexington One in 2003 as an English teacher at Lexington High School. In 2006, he was promoted to the position of administrative assistant. In 2007, he was promoted to the position of assistant principal.

Rabon has served as a district hearing officer for three years and is a certified ADEPT Mentor and SAFE-T evaluator. He is also Crisis Prevention Intervention certified.

He has served as a High Schools That Work Technical Assistance Visit Team Member and an AdvancED School Accreditation Quality Assurance Review Team Member.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Arts in Teaching in secondary English and a Master of Education in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. He also holds certifications as secondary principal, secondary supervisor and English teacher.

Rabon is a member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.
