Liberty Fellowship names Elizabeth Smith Owen to next class

Liberty Fellowship has named Elizabeth Smith Owen, a partner with Morton & Gettys law firm in Rock Hill, S.C., to its 14th class.

Luanne Runge, President & CEO of Liberty Fellowship, said “Each of these new fellows has a unique role in this network and helps us leverage our differences for the good of South Carolina.”

“Elizabeth is already a tremendous asset to York County,” said John Gettys, another partner with her law firm. “Now, all of South Carolina will have the chance to benefit from her leadership.”

Elizabeth’s practice concentrates on family law and education law.

She has served her community as chief municipal judge for the city of York, and also as past president of the York County Bar Association.

As a Liberty Fellow, Elizabeth will join a network of 290 statewide leaders working collaboratively as an engine of change for South Carolina.
