Local author and life coach, Karin Freeland, honored for business skills

Greenville Business Magazine has honored Karin Freeland with a 2024 SC Women in Business Award.
The SC Women in Business Awards are for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run and those who are making a difference. This prestigious award honors select businesswomen across South Carolina based on career achievements, contributions to their company, and community involvement.
A New York native, Freeland started a career as an actress and professional dancer earning several movie and television credits. However, she switched her career path to the corporate sector after a few years.
Over the next 15 years, she oversaw the creation and launch of global brands through her roles as Chief of Staff to the President of Verizon Enterprise Solutions and Head of Demand Generation & Field Marketing for North America at Centrica Business Solutions, before making the leap to consulting as Vice President of Digital GTM and Learning at JS Group.
She now runs Karin Freeland Coaching & Consulting LLC in Greenville where she focuses on helping clients overcome burnout, balance their work and personal lives, and achieve their biggest goals, so they can live a more fulfilling purpose-driven life and increase their impact in the community.
In 2023, she released “Grab Life by the Dreams,” a self-help book which explores how women find themselves in mental, physical, and personal ruts in their lives, and gives them the steps they need not just to get “unstuck,” but to build tenable paths forward for success.
An in-demand public speaker, she also hosts the “Rock Your Reinvention” podcast, which is for anyone looking to gain insights about what they really want out of life, redefine what success means to them, hear from like-minded women, who have reinvented their careers and relationships, and learn tangible tips for achieving professional and personal goals.
