McCollum joins Richardson Thomas

Dixie McCollum, a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, has joined Richardson Thomas as an associate attorney. She will practice in the firm’s Columbia office.

She will concentrate on representing clients in serious injury, wrongful death, and dangerous-products cases. Her practice also will include class actions and whistleblower litigation. She holds a license in North Carolina, with her admission currently pending in South Carolina.

Prior to joining Richardson Thomas, Dixie practiced labor and employment law for nearly two years in the Charlotte office of an international firm. During that time, Dixie assisted clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues while simultaneously honing her litigation and writing skills.

While attending law school, Dixie was Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review. She also earned two prestigious CALI Awards in Advanced Civil Procedure and American Legal History and served as a law clerk for four law firms, three of which were nationally recognized.

Her bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish is from Wofford College, where she graduated summa cum laude.
