Mike Brown contemporary artist in residence Dogon Krigga

Mike Brown Contemporary in partnership with One Columbia SC, is pleased to announce Dogon Krigga will serve as the first MBC Emerging Artist In Residence. With generous support from One Columbia SC, Krigga will occupy the Mike Brown Contemporary gallery at 1221 Lincoln Street from July 19 – August 21, 2023. The gallery remains open to the public Thursday thru Saturday 3pm – 5pm for studio visits with the artist.
- July 20, 2023 6pm – 8pm – Welcome Kickoff / Meet the artist.
- August 12, 10am -1pm – Krigga hosts Mike’s Mugs – An unmoderated conversation for Columbia’s creative community. You bring a mug, MBC supplies coffee and treats. Mike’s Mugs is a recurring event every second Saturday of the month 10am – 1pm.
- August 17, 6pm – 8pm Third Thursday in the Vista/ Open Studio at MBC
- September 15 – Exhibition in partnership with one Columbia at their Duke Avenue community space.
Dogon Krigga is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Columbia, South Carolina. With a background in journalism and music production, Dogon began creating commissioned works of digital collage for musicians, which led to their exploration of various art forms. From digital art, Krigga expanded their practice to include hand-cut paper collage, assemblage, installations, and murals.
