Millers Fork Trail – A Gem in Laurens County
June 6, 2021Saturday June 5th was National Trails Day and a perfect day to have the grand opening of the Millers Fork Trail in Clinton. Well over 100 people came out to enjoy the day and explore Millers Fork Trail.
“Thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate National Trails Day and the Grand opening of the new Miller’s Fork Park,” said Bud Marchant, Executive Director of the Laurens County Trails Association (LCTA). “It was great to see so many people enjoying the great outdoors of Laurens County by biking, running and hiking.”
First up was the bike ride that started at the Vestibule Coffee shop and ended into the trail head to join others participating in a one-mile fun run. The runners enjoyed a quick run and then joined the group for the ribbon cutting for the trail.
After comments from Bud Marchant, LCTA executive director; Susan Galloway, Clinton Canopy director, and Mayor Bob McLean, and the ribbon cutting, attendees were able to go out and explore the great trail.
It was a beautiful day to explore the trail which includes some areas of deep foliage and water features. It’s truly a gem in Laurens County!
