Mission Lexington launches Summer Snack Pack Program for kids

June 6, 2024

Mission Lexington announced the launch of our Summer Snack Pack Program, designed to provide nutritious snacks to children in need throughout the summer months. In the first week of June, we successfully distributed 200 snack packs through our food pantry, and our goal is to hand out a total of 2,000 packs by the end of August.

The snack packs include a variety of kid-friendly and healthy items such as mac and cheese, fruit cups, granola bars, crackers, juice pouches, and more. These packs are crucial in ensuring that children who rely on school meals do not go hungry during the summer break.

“We are committed to supporting our community, especially our young ones, during this critical time,” said Robin Bowers, Executive Director of Mission Lexington. “The Summer Snack Pack Program is one way we can help bridge the gap and ensure that children have access to nutritious food when school is not in session.”

However, we cannot do this alone. We need the support of our generous community to continue this vital program. We are calling on individuals, businesses, and organizations to consider donating to our food pantry. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of children in our community.

Please join us in this important effort. Donations can be dropped off at Mission Lexington, or financial contributions can be made through our website www.missionlexingtonsc.org. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
