MPA Strategies’ Leah Johnson awarded national education certification

The American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) has appointed Leah Johnson as a Certified Education Administrator (CEA). The ASHA CEA is charged with overseeing the ASHA Approved CE Provider’s continuing education program and is the identifiable and continuous authority designated to ensure that the organization is in compliance with all ASHA Continuing Education Board (CEB) requirements. These requirements include ethical, evidence-based instruction, strict adherence to Board policies and transparent disclosure of all financial and nonfinancial relationships.
ASHA Certification is bestowed only upon successful completion of a rigorous and interactive application, tutorial and testing process and final review and approval by the ASHA Continuing Education Board. In her capacity as CEA, Johnson will serve as the primary liaison and sole contact person between the South Carolina Speech Hearing Language Association (SCSHA) and the ASHA CEB.
SCSHA is the professional and scholarly organization for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. Its goal is to meet the needs of its members and the individuals they serve by promoting and advocating the highest quality services and professional standards, providing opportunities for professional growth and the exchange of knowledge, and educating the public about communication disorders and the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology.
ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 204,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students.
Johnson, a Certified Association Executive, serves as the Executive Director of the South Carolina Speech Hearing Language Association, a client of MPA Strategies.
