Accomplishments under Broj’s leadership include:

Emily, the MUSC Voice Bot – Assisting Patients 24/7: Emily, the innovative voice-enabled digital assistant, supports patients by verifying appointment information, allowing them to cancel appointments and soon enabling rescheduling. With round-the-clock service and a 4.3/5 patient satisfaction rating, Emily enhances access to healthcare services at any time.

More than 2,000 Spanish-language encounters: By offering registration services in Spanish, MUSC ensures that language is not a barrier to health care access, empowering Spanish-speaking patients to engage in their health journey with confidence. These reflect MUSC’s commitment to health equity and providing inclusive, culturally appropriate care for all patients.

1,830 self-scheduled mammograms: Offering patients the ability to self-schedule, especially for crucial screenings like mammograms, puts control in the hands of patients and aligns with MUSC’s mission to enhance patient autonomy. With 1,830 self-scheduled mammograms and 126 abnormal results detected, this initiative directly impacts early detection of breast cancer, which is vital for successful outcomes and closing care gaps. Patients also did not have to call for appointments during business hours, but instead could schedule at their convenience. The first night MUSC offered this, more than 100 women scheduled after 7 p.m. and before 7 a.m.

Pre-registration from home: There are 110,000 visit reminders every month with a 97% satisfaction rate that showcases the impact of streamlining this process. Pre-registration in the patient’s own language gives them the comfort and convenience of completing this step without time pressure. This not only improves the patient experience but also increases operational efficiency for the clinic staff, reducing wait times and enhancing the flow of appointments.

The HotTopics Global C-Suite Awards celebrate exceptional business and technology executives who are at the forefront of digital transformation and innovation worldwide. Nominated by a global community of 18,000 executives and selected by an independent panel of judges, these awards highlight the very best in leadership across the globe.
