New blockbuster exhibit, Hall of Heroes, opens Sat., Jan. 19

Friday Night Laser Lights, Fri., Jan. 18
 The State Museum’s Friday Night Laser Lights now includes even more musical and visual experiences. In addition to exciting laser shows, guests can now immerse themselves in a full dome musical experience featuring eye-catching visuals set to the music of legendary bands and world-class musicians.
7 p.m. – Laser Light Show: The Beatles, Abbey Road
8 p.m. – Full Dome Musical Experience: Led Zeppelin
9 p.m. – Laser Light Show: The Eagles
10 p.m. – Full Dome Musical Experience: Pink Floyd – The Wall
PLEASE NOTE: These shows are not recommended for children under the age of 8.

New Blockbuster Exhibit, Hall of Heroes, Opens Sat., Jan. 19
This exciting new interactive exhibit featuring, Batman, Superman, the Hulk and more explores the history and science behind America’s superhero obsession. Guests will journey through themed environments as they immerse themselves in the world of heroes, crime-fighters, gadgets and more. There are surprises around each corner as guests will get to test their own super abilities at a variety of interactive stations. Visit scmuseum.org to learn more.
Family Astronomy Workshop: Night-Sky and Telescope Viewing 101, Sun. Jan 20
Museum astronomers will show guests the basics of telescope observing and how to assemble their own star wheels to help them navigate the night sky with ease. Guests can bring in their own telescopes to practice setting up and viewing with help from State Museum astronomy educators. The State Museum will have additional telescopes for guests that do not own one, but still wish to attend the workshop. Each ticket includes a night-vision friendly red flashlight to take home. Tickets for each workshop are $20 for general public, $15 for museum members and $5 for Astrokids members. Tickets can be purchased online at scmuseum.org.
Lunar Eclipse Night, Sun. Jan 20
The State Museum will be open late for guests to experience the Lunar Eclipse from the Boeing Observatory. Partial eclipse will begin at 10:33 a.m. with maximum eclipse happening at 12:12 a.m. A special Lunar Eclipse Planetarium Show and Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon laser show will be playing in the planetarium and The Martian 4D Experience and ICE AGE: No Time for Nuts 4D will be showing in the 4D Theater.
