Nine college students join Northwestern Mutual summer internship program

July 14, 2024

Northwestern Mutual, a leading financial services firm, selected nine college students to participate in the company’s nationally recognized summer internship program to work in its Upstate SC offices and gain valuable experience in financial planning from seasoned financial advisors.

The summer interns include Carlos Lopez, of Bob Jones University, Olivia Montagano, of Wofford University, and Furman University students Gregory Beaulieu, Jeanay Luines, and Jaya Winemiller. Garrett Bonacci, Meredith Kuehhas, Daniel Merida and Colby Tant of Clemson University are also interning this summer. They will all gain first-hand experience learning how financial advisors help clients analyze their financial picture and build strong financial plans.

Since 1967, over 65,000 college students have participated in Northwestern Mutual’s internship program, and nearly one-third of interns will pursue full-time careers with the company after graduation. This year marks the 58th anniversary of Northwestern Mutual’s successful internship program, which can be instrumental for a college student’s future career – whether in the financial services industry, sales or other business endeavors.

“We provide interns with opportunities for personal and professional growth, valuable training and real-world experiences with a respected financial security company,” said Mandee Armfield, Executive Director of Development for Northwestern Mutual’s Upstate SC offices. “Because our trained and licensed interns are able to test drive the same career as our full-time representatives, they are better prepared to jump start their career because of the professional coaching and mentoring they receive.”

Interested applicants can visit Northwestern Mutual’s website or contact the Greenville Northwestern Mutual office to learn more about available internship opportunities.
