Nonprofit Leaders Gathered at Shine the Light Forum

GREENVILLE, SC − DNA Creative Communications (DNA), in partnership with the Hollingsworth Funds, Community Foundation of Greenville and United Way of Greenville County, hosted the first session of the Shine the Light (STL) Nonprofit Forumson Wednesday at the Kroc Center.

“The commitment to advancing our local nonprofit leadership was obvious with the great attendance and energetic conversations,” said Debbie Nelson, President of DNA and founder of STL.

More than 60 executive directors and board leaders from the Upstate gathered at the first session, Creating a Strong Organizational Culture, to learn, collaborate and network. Keynote speaker Pratichi Shah, CEO and founder of Flourish TMS, joined us from Washington, DC to share her experiences with nonprofit leadership and culture. A panel of four local nonprofit leaders joined Pratichi in discussing how her topics relate to Greenville’s nonprofit success stories:

This year’s STL focus is on four key elements of nonprofit leadership. All sessions will be held at the Kroc Center from 8 a.m. − noonwith a networking breakfast. The remaining three sessions are:

  • Developing and Engaging a High Performing Board on July 16, featuring Susan Meier, principal of Meier & Associates
  • Expanding Leadership Beyond Your Walls on September 17, featuring Sydney Rogers, Executive Director of Alignment Nashville
  • Leading for Sustainability on November 19, featuring Kathy Hedge, author and Nonprofit Consultant

Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums is an annual series of educational workshops presented by DNA Creative Communications in Greenville, SC. These comprehensive seminars in nonprofit management include fundraising help, strategic planning, branding exercises and leadership development.
