Ob Hospitalist Group Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer
June 4, 2015GREENVILLE, SC – Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), the nation’s largest dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist provider, welcomed new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Leonard (Lenny) L. Castiglione. Castiglione joins OBHG with 23 years of healthcare service experience. Castiglione most recently served as CEO of Florida Gulf to Bay Anesthesia Holdings, LLC in Tampa, Florida, and previously held a variety of senior executive positions with US Oncology for more than a decade. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in health systems management from Tulane University.
Castiglione has spent his entire career advancing healthcare and possesses a uniquely well-rounded perspective, having represented all three layers of healthcare: the provider side, hospital side and payor side. One of his primary objectives at OBHG will be to leverage their current position as the leader in women’s healthcare, to build a more robust national platform that engages hospitals on a system-wide basis to offer this unique model.
“Our search for a Chief Executive Officer focused fundamentally on an individual who repeatedly demonstrated an ability to scale high-growth healthcare businesses,” stated OBHG Founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Chris Swain. “We were extremely fortunate to find in Lenny someone with extensive healthcare experience, along with demonstrated business development success. We plan to take full advantage of these attributes as we seek to continue our fast-paced growth.
We are honored that he has agreed to join us on this journey and expect that he will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of elevating the standard of women’s healthcare. ”
Recalling why he joined OBHG, Lenny states, “what was most compelling to me about OBHG is the vision for the company to care for pregnant women in emergency situations. The company has a proven track record of success across the country in partnering with hospitals and OB/GYN groups to deliver this innovative model in more than 80 facilities. I joined so I could help lead their rapid growth in order to serve even more women with this level of access to care.”
“Today’s announcement concludes an exhaustive search for the absolute right person at the right time,” said David Swain, OBHG Co-founder and Executive Chairman. “We found a leader who can build on our success and embrace the extraordinary opportunities that lie ahead for OBHG. I believe we are now better positioned for long-term growth. Lenny will help us achieve growth and operational and clinical excellence to better serve our current and future hospital partners, local providers and most of all, mothers and their newborns.”
