Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, announced that Lucas Asper and Ellis Fisher have been elected to the position of shareholder. Asper and Fisher practice in the firm’s Greenville office.

Asper represents management in federal and state litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, protective covenants, and breach of employment agreements. He also has a strong preventive employment and labor law advice practice, including addressing matters under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the National Labor Relations Act. Asper represents employers across various industries in responding to and defending administrative charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, and other agencies.

Fisher concentrates his practice representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including National Labor Relations Board representation elections, unfair labor practice proceedings, decertifications, collective bargaining negotiations, workplace strike situations, and claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful discharge. Earlier in his career, Fisher worked for the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations and the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

“I’d like to congratulate Lucas and Ellis on their professional accomplishments and contributions to the firm,” said Mike Shetterly, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins’ Greenville office. “Both uphold the values of our Client Pledge and are strong advocates for their clients.”
