Origins Church finds new home at Cigar Warehouse

Origins Church Greenville has found a new Sunday morning home at The Old Cigar Warehouse downtown.
The church started meeting in 2009 as a small group in a living room, which eventually expanded into weekly meetings at local coffee shop Spill The Beans. This newest transition to The Old Cigar Warehouse on Sundays marks clear congregational growth as well as allowing them to expand on their desire to reach more people of downtown Greenville, said Matthew Elrod, Origins’ lead pastor.
“We exist to make disciples who love God, love one another, and love Greenville,” Elrod said. “And we strive to impact downtown lives on a personal level and provide a community for them to belong.”
Tammy Johnson, owner of High Spirits Hospitality, which is the parent company of The Old Cigar Warehouse, said her team is excited about Origins being at the historic West End venue. The Old Cigar Warehouse has hosted more than 1,000 events in the past five years, but have never had a weekly, recurring event.
“This is a unique opportunity for us,” Johnson said. “We look forward to the possibilities.”
