Pendleton Place names Jed Dews as new Executive Director
May 8, 2018Succession Plan leads to internal change in leadership
After implementing an agency succession plan, Pendleton Place is proud to announce Jed Dews as the new Executive Director. For more than 40 years, Pendleton Place has been a place of safety and comfort for children hurt by abuse and neglect.
Jed has been a part of the Pendleton Place team for almost six years and recently served as the Associate Executive Director. As the Executive Director, Dews will provide leadership and guidance for the organization’s mission to keep children safe and support families in crisis through prevention, assessment, and intervention.
Jed was honored as one of Greenville’s Best and Brightest in 2017 and has extensive experience and knowledge in child welfare. He has collaborated with the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities on the development of a federal policy platform, provided technical assistance to a public-private child protection research project sponsored by UNICEF, and contracted with the Children’s Bureau to examine key indicators of state-wide performance in child welfare services.
“Pendleton Place has a long legacy of innovation, collaboration, and advocacy for our community’s children and youth,” Dews says. “I couldn’t be prouder to provide leadership to this organization and everything it represents for our community. We have an incredible team of world-changers who impact the lives of countless children, teens, and families, and we look forward to expanding our services in the coming years to reach even more young people affected by abuse, neglect, and other forms of trauma.”
This change will come into effect on May 17, 2018. Jed and the Pendleton Place Board of Directors will be working together to execute a well-planned transition ensuring no disruptive impact will be made on the organization, its services, and, most importantly, the children and families served.
