Pinnacle Bank of SC, a Greenville-based community bank, announced its second annual Shred A Way Day to be held on Friday, November 7th, 2014, as a Customer Appreciation Day event. The free event, designed to raise awareness about the importance of financial privacy and fraud protection, will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank’s Powdersville and N. Pleasantburg Dr. branch locations. A Shred A Way truck will be located at this branch to help community members properly dispose of sensitive and personal documents. Shred A Way Inc., a Better Business Bureau accredited company based out of Piedmont, S.C., hopes to educate members of the community on how shredding documents is a simple and important form of protection against identity theft. Shred A Way will also secure and properly remove all documents shredded at the event. Pinnacle Bank and Shred A Way recommend the following documents be shredded in order to protect against identity theft:

    • Tax returns
    • Bank statements
