Public meeting Dec. 5 on proposed interchange improvements at I-26/US 21(Exit 119) and adjacent frontage road connections

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting for Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, concerning proposed improvements to the interchange of Interstate 26 (I-26) and US 21 at Exit 119 in Lexington County.

The meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grace Chapel Church located at 663 Dixiana Road, West Columbia, SC 29172. The meeting will have a drop-in type format with displays for viewing and citizens will have the opportunity to provide written comments.  Project information, including meeting materials and comment forms will also be available on the SCDOT website (http://www.scdot.org, Public Involvement Portal – Public Meeting Calendar).

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity to review and discuss individually with representatives from SCDOT the proposed improvements to interchange of Interstate 26 (I-26) and US 21 at Exit 119.  These improvements are intended to improve the current geometric deficiencies.  Another purpose of the meeting is to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area.  Personnel from SCDOT will be available to answer questions and discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.
