Red Shoe Society’s 3rd Annual Plane Pull set for Saturday, April 7th

March 13, 2018

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of the Carolinas’ Red Shoe Society announced their 3rd Annual Plane Pull for Saturday, April 7th at the Greenville Downtown Airport. This is the third year that the young professional fundraising arm of the Ronald McDonald House has put on the event to raise money for families to stay near their critically ill or injured child being treated at a nearby healthcare facility.

“We are so excited to host this year’s plane pull again,” said Carlie Boese, Red Shoe Society’s Plane Pull Chair. “It is the perfect spring time event to bring your friends, family and colleagues to at the airport. Plus, you get the chance to pull a plane, and how many people can say that have done that? The Plane Pull is one of Greenville’s most unique fundraising events and we hope to have a lot of great competitors.”

The Red Shoe Society is looking for individuals and businesses to put together teams and compete by pulling a plane. Teams consist of four individuals, 16 years old and over, that will pull a jet down the downtown airport’s tarmac. The event consists of a competitive and open division and the teams are ranked based on fastest time achieved in 75 yards of pulling the plane. Prizes such as cash, gift cards and flight lesson vouchers are awarded to the winning teams of both divisions. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the event is located at the Greenville Downtown Airport on Airport Rd Ext, Greenville, SC 29607, adjacent to the Runway Café.

“Our Red Shoe Society is made up of young professionals throughout the Upstate who seek to make a difference in the lives of families and their children,” said Marti Spencer, Executive Director/CEO of RMHC of the Carolinas. “It is through their outstanding fundraising efforts, we are able to provide a home for hundreds of families to stay near sick child.”
