Richardson Plowden’s David A. Anderson elected President of S.C. Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association

Richardson Plowden & Robinson, P.A. announced that attorney David A. Anderson was recently elected president of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association (SCDTAA). Anderson will serve a one-year term, which began November 13, 2016.

The purpose of SCDTAA is to promote justice, professionalism, and integrity in the civil justice system by bringing together attorneys dedicated to the defense of civil actions. Members of SCDTAA elected Anderson to the position of president during the Association’s 49th Annual Conference held at Reynold Plantation in Greensboro, GA. on November 10. Anderson has served on the Association’s board since 2008. He has served in a number of leadership roles within the organization, including the Corporate Counsel Chair, Editor of the Defense Line, and Sponsorship Committee Chair.

Anderson focuses his practice in the areas of real estate litigation, product liability, general liability, and municipal liability defense. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1996. Prior to that he earned his undergraduate degree from The Citadel in 1982. He is a Certified Mediator in state and federal courts. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), and the Professional Liability Defense Federation (PLDF). He is a former Army Aviator who retired as a Colonel from the South Carolina Army National Guard.
