Richland One offering a college financial aid 101 workshop

Parents, if you need help paying for college for your high school senior, but don’t have a clue where to start or how to get the money, this upcoming Richland One workshop – Financial Aid 101 – is for you.

Richland One’s School Counseling Services Department is sponsoring the free informational workshop, which will be held Monday, October 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Heyward Career and Technology Center, 3560 Lynhaven Drive. The workshop is open to all Richland One high school seniors and their parents.

Workshop topics will include the basics, like financial aid, options for paying college costs not covered by financial aid, the importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form (commonly known as FAFSA) and much more. A certified college planning specialist with The College Funding Center of South Carolina will be the presenter.
