Riggs Partners announces 2018 Creative Marathon for nonprofits

Riggs Partners will hold its 21st annual CreateAthon event to benefit Midlands and Upstate-area nonprofits on October 18–19, 2017. CreateAthon is a 24-hour creative marathon during which professionals provide marketing services to nonprofit organizations on a pro bono basis.

Riggs Partners encourages South Carolina’s Midlands and Upstate nonprofits to submit a CreateAthon application up until July 20. Applications now are available at www.riggspartners.com, and selected nonprofits will be notified in late August.

“We’re honored to help these nonprofit organizations tell their stories,” said Teresa Coles, president of Riggs Partners. “Their work is vital to our communities, and the nonprofit marketplace is increasingly competitive given the depth of need that exists today. Our hope is that by helping nonprofits achieve greater clarity and impact in their communications, they’ll be better positioned to meet the growing demands around the issues they support.”

CreateAthon began as Riggs Partners’ local community service program in 1998 and is now a national 501(c) 3 organization that recruits marketing and communications agencies, universities, professional organizations and corporate marketing teams across the country as CreateAthon partners. The program has served more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, delivering pro bono marketing projects valued at more than $24 million.

“We’ve had the privilege of serving more than 200 South Carolina nonprofits through the original CreateAthon here at Riggs,” said Coles. “While we’d like to think our work has been helpful to these organizations over the years, what has been more important is the opportunity we’ve had to learn more about them — the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes every day to make life better and richer for so many people.
