Riley Combines Physics and Photography, Named Artist of the Month at Little River Coffee Bar

SPARTANBURG, SC – Dr. John C. Riley, associate professor of physics at the University of South Carolina Upstate and a photographer, is the featured Artist of the Month at Little River Coffee Bar in downtown Spartanburg. A reception will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m.
Riley has used photography to create interactive object movies for use in a computerized physics lab manual he wrote and similar interactive presentations of pre-Columbian and Colonial-era artifacts for the National Museum of Costa Rica. He is currently involved in a collaborative project at USC Upstate, creating interactive photographic visualizations of flower dissections. Riley’s photographic interest outside of academics is focused on creating high-resolution landscape panoramas.
