Rising Tide Lifts All Ships – An Open letter to the LCDC

August 4, 2021

The below is an open letter sent to Jonathan Coleman (LCDC President/CEO) following the City of Clinton’s August Council meeting;

Jonathan,
First, I would like to thank the LCDC team for your commitment to growing the economic opportunities of Laurens County. Recent announcements by Frauenthal Gnotec and Malouf Companies are a proven result of these efforts.

The announcement of LCDC’s relocation from Professional Park Road to The Midtown Building was a heated topic in the recent City of Clinton Council Meeting. As President and CEO you have a responsibility to the Board and Members of the LCDC, and I trust this decision was made with the best interest of the organization in mind. Fortunately for us, this mission includes a “focus on economic opportunities that result in a viable future for all County citizens”.

The City of Laurens (particularly in the vicinity of the square) has become a thriving hub of excitement, ideas, and business. My hope is that this vibrant atmosphere helps you and the LCDC team in “selling” the Laurens County lifestyle to prospective businesses and results in continued economic growth for us all.

I look forward to seeing, and participating in, a similar transformation here in downtown Clinton. As Laurens County grows, each of our communities will build on the other’s success. Our doors at 202 W Main in Clinton are open. We are happy to help facilitate an event or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation as we build relationships that support our common goals.

Thank you,
Joseph Dyches
