SAFE Federal Credit Union creates new position overseeing Electronic Services

February 21, 2018

In a move to streamline the management of its many electronic services for members, SAFE Federal Credit Union has named Mandy Baibak Assistant Vice President of Electronic Services.

Baibak, who has worked at SAFE for nearly 14 years, now oversees all the electronic services with an eye on making sure that the member experience is a good one in every case. Those services range from debit and credit cards to online account application, remote deposit capture, video-enabled Personal Teller Machines, online banking, online bill pay, and more.

For the past two and a half years, Baibak has managed the SAFE Member Service Center. Before that, she managed membership development functions for the credit union and was the Membership Development Officer in the Columbia area.

The new position and the realignment of the electronic services are part of SAFE’s overall streamlining of operations in response to the credit union’s continued growth. The credit union now has more than a billion dollars in assets.

“With our size, it makes it even more important that we operate as efficiently as possible and at the same time emphasize member service with a renewed focus on how members engage with us in a digital world,” said Darrell Merkel, CEO of SAFE Federal Credit Union.”

Baibak noted that “One of my goals in this job is to make a difference for our members and for SAFE. I want to be able to say that I am helping to drive our credit union forward.”
