Sales Savvy – Success comes with self-confidence

Success comes with self-confidence

Marketing and selling are not only intellectual.

They can be highly emotional, too.

Don’t let anyone tell you they don’t get:

• Nervous when presenting a major proposal.

Millions of dollars may be riding on it.

It’s natural to feel butterflies in your tummy.

• Excited when you finally close the deal.

It’s not just the money. It’s the thrill of victory.

Of course, your work is just beginning.

You’ve got to deliver the goods and retain the client.

Great experiences lead to lasting relationships.

.

Your prospects and clients are emotional, too.

They tell; themselves they negotiate intellectually.

But they make buying decisions based on feelings.

Then they rationalize those decisions to themselves.

Sometimes they make poor emotional decisions.

That lead them to suffer buyer’s remorse.

Ever regretted a purchase? You know what I mean.

Don’t ever try sell something they don’t need or want.

They will regret it and you’ll lose a good client.

This will cost you their confidence in you.

.

Dealing with your emotions in sales can be trying.

Here’s an example I hope you never experience.

A friend runs his own equipment maintenance service.

The buyer for one company loves to bully him.

He put up with this because it’s 30% of his business.

But why be humiliated like this for even 100%?

Most of us would walk away from such accounts.

We can find other clients.

We don’t have to take abuse from such bullies.

Respect yourself and your skills as a professional.

Without self-respect, a “no” will kill your confidence.

Without confidence, you won’t succeed in sales.

You won’t be able to handle it.

It’s a first step toward handling rejection.
