Salvation Army presents ‘DOING THE MOST GOOD’ awards

May 30, 2019

The Salvation Army of the Midlands celebrated National Salvation Army Week last week. A major highlight of the week included presenting community partners with ‘DOING THE MOST GOOD’ awards. The award honors other organizations that also serve the community in some capacity.

All of the recipients chosen this year help The Salvation Army to serve vulnerable and marginalized populations in Columbia. The recipients are:

  • United Way of the Midlands
  • Harvest Hope Food Bank
  • BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina
  • IMG (Insurance Management Group)
  • University of South Carolina (Leadership and Service)
  • Cynthia Byrd

“The Salvation Army of the Midlands wouldn’t exist without community partners and supporters. We are grateful to be part of a community that cares for the hurting and broken. We are honored to serve alongside all of the award recipients.” said Major Henry Morris, Salvation Army Area Commander.
