Santee Cooper Launches Business Custom Rebates
October 3, 2011Part of ongoing “Reduce the Use” Energy Efficiency Campaign
MONCKS CORNER, SC – October 3, 2011 – Santee Cooper today unveiled its Business Custom Rebates, a customized energy savings initiative for commercial customers as part of its “Reduce the Use: Business” campaign. Santee Cooper’s comprehensive Reduce the Use program is intended to lower the overall use of electricity.
The Custom Rebate is a one-time rebate based on $0.10 for every kWh of verified first-year energy savings, up to $200,000 per project. Energy-saving measures not already covered by one of the Reduce the Use: Business Prescriptive Rebates for lighting, HVAC, building envelope or commercial refrigeration may qualify for a Custom Rebate.
“While our Reduce the Use: Business Prescriptive Rebates cover most of the common big energy users, there are energy saving measures unique to some businesses that have not been addressed until now,” said Juan Holmes, Santee Cooper manager of conservation and energy efficiency. “Custom Rebates can be tailored specifically to provide unique energy savings initiatives on a business to business basis.”
This suite of business initiatives and rebates aims to substantially reduce the use of electricity and improve energy efficiency among its roughly 30,000 business customers in Horry, Georgetown and Berkeley counties by 2020.
Approved by the board of directors in February of 2009, the $113 million overall Reduce the Use campaign encourages Santee Cooper customers to rethink their energy consumption habits and take steps to reduce the amount of electricity they use.
Business customers are encouraged to email [email protected] or call 843-347-3399 ext. 3910 in Horry and Georgetown counties or 843-761-8000 ext. 3910 in Berkeley County for more information.
