Santee Cooper names Sam Bennett economic development manager

MONCKS CORNER, SC – October 6, 2011 – C. Samuel “Sam” Bennett II has joined Santee Cooper as manager of economic development.

As part of his responsibilities, Bennett will work closely with economic development entities statewide, including the South Carolina Power Team – a partnership between Santee Cooper and Central Electric Cooperative – and regional and local economic development organizations around the state.

Bennett is the former city administrator of the city of North Augusta, S.C., a post he has held since March 2007. Prior to that, he served as city manager of the city of Clinton for six years and assistant city manager of Goose Creek for another six years.

He is a native of South Carolina and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Winthrop University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Carolina.
