SC Philharmonic names Samantha Breske Marketing and PR Director
March 2, 2018The South Carolina Philharmonic (SCP) announced that Samantha Breske has joined the orchestra’s administrative staff as their new Marketing and Public Relations Director. Samantha has worked in the non-profit, for-profit and performing arts sectors, including as casting director for the American Theater Company in Chicago, marketing director of Nashville’s Adventure Science Center, and as a client relations manager for Vineyard Vines by Oak Hall. She is also a classically trained violinist.
Samantha joins the SCP to strengthen its successful work in audience-building and increase visibility in the community for its education and outreach programs.
“Samantha’s training and experience in graphic arts, and social and digital media match perfectly with the current needs of the SC Phil,” said Executive Director Rhonda Hunsinger. “She is also adept at working with the media, and writing compelling content for all areas of marketing and communication.”
Noting Samantha’s classical music training, Maestro Morihiko Nakahara added “I think we can work well together and develop a strong marketing message for each season and each program.”
Samantha received her Bachelor of Music in Music Business, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre (administration emphasis) from Millikin University, and her Master of Arts Management (digital marketing emphasis) from Carnegie Mellon University. She also studied music at the Royal College of Music in London.
The South Carolina Philharmonic also announces the promotion of Amy Bigham from Development Assistant to Audience Services Director, and Karly Shorter from Education Coordinator to Education Director. “We have a great team in place for the next step in this orchestra’s journey,” said Hunsinger.
“The South Carolina Philharmonic entertains, educates, enriches and excites diverse audiences through live symphonic music.”
