SCE&G to Launch Energy Efficiency Program in West Columbia Neighborhood

Launch at Brookland Lakeview Empowerment Center Will Kick Off Largest Program Event Yet

 

WHO:  Residents of the Brookland-Lakeview neighborhood

SCE&G President Keller Kissam and other company representatives

WHAT: Residents of the Brookland-Lakeview neighborhood in West Columbia will gather at the Brookland Lakeview Empowerment Centerearn more about the Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program, which SCE&G will offer at no cost to over 750 homes in the area during the next three months.

WHEN: Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 6 p.m.

PHOTO OPS:  Neighborhood residents will learn about the energy-saving measures that the program could include, such as CFL light bulbs, electric water heater wraps and insulation for water pipes, Smart-Strip power strips, winterization kits for window/wall units, adjustment of electric water heater temperature and HVAC filter installation.

 

WHY: SCE&G started the Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program in 2013 to provide eligible neighborhoods with energy audits and energy-saving improvements for residential customers at no cost. The program served over 1,300 households in neighborhoods throughout SCE&G’s electric service area in 2014, with a goal of serving more than 1,400 homes in 2015.
