SCRA’S Timothy Chavez Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel by US Air Force Reserve
September 7, 2010CHARLESTON, SC – September 7, 2010 – SCRA, a South Carolina-basedglobal leader in applied research and commercialization, announcestoday that Timothy Chavez has been selected for promotion to LieutenantColonel in the US Air Force Reserve. At SCRA, Chavez holds the positionof Senior Joint Test and Evaluation Engineer with SCRA affiliateAdvanced Technology International. In this role, he provides on-sitesupport to the Joint System Integration Center (JSIC) in Suffolk,Virginia.
Chavez currently serves in the US Air Force Reserve as Chief of theCommand and Control (C2) Architecture and Analysis Division at the AirForce C2 Integration Center. Prior to joining SCRA in 2007, Chavez hadbeen on active duty with the US Air Force since 1990. He most recentlyserved as a Branch Chief and Test Director for the Air Force Test andEvaluation Center’s Detachment 3.
Chavez is currently working toward a Master’s Degree in InformationResource Management at the University of Maryland. He holds a BS Degreein Computer Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Histraining also includes Air Command and Staff College, Squadron OfficerSchool and he is a distinguished graduate of Advanced CommunicationsOfficer courses. He has earned multiple certifications and honorsincluding US Air Force Meritorious Service Medals and CommendationMedals.
