CHARLESTON, SC – June 24, 2009 – SCRA has received a successful Capability Maturity Model ® Integration (CMMI) Level II appraisal in accordance with the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) criteria. SEI works closely with defense and government organizations, industry and academia to continually improve software-intensive systems. Successful appraisal versus SEI disciplines ensure improved cost, schedule and quality for an organization’s customers. As part of Carnegie Mellon University, SEI serves as a national resource in advancing and codifying software engineering, technological development and methodological processes.
SCRA’s appraisal was led by an SEI-authorized Lead Assessor and supported by SCRA staff, who thoroughly evaluated seven process areas utilizing the CMMI criteria. SCRA received successful evaluation in all areas. CMMI provides organizations with objective standards for essential processes that guide improvement across a project, a division or an entire organization.
“SCRA is pleased with achieving a successful CMMI Level II appraisal,” said Bill Mahoney, SCRA CEO. “With the emerging worldwide adoption of CCMI, SCRA’s successful appraisal reflects our commitment to globally competitive quality.I am extremely proud of our staff’s successful track record and of our commitment to quality, which helps us realize the best results for our clients.”
