SCSBA communications efforts recognized with SC/NSPRA awards
July 21, 2021The South Carolina Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association celebrated the effectiveness of communications programs and projects from around the state at its annual Rewards for Excellence awards ceremony, which was held virtually on July 15. This program recognizes outstanding communications and public relations efforts by South Carolina schools, school districts and education associations.
The South Carolina School Boards Association was among the honorees, earning a Golden Achievement award, a Best in Show “Excellence in Writing” award and four Publication and Electronic Media awards.
SCSBA earned a Golden Achievement award for their “School Board Members Celebrate 2020 Graduates” campaign, which provided unique resources for school board members to celebrate graduates during the COVID-19 pandemic. A Best in Show “Excellence in Writing” Award was given for SCSBA’s Op-Ed titled, “Pandemic money pouring into private schools at the public’s expense,” and Publication and Electronic Media awards were given in the marketing, photography and special purpose publication categories.
“Communicating and engaging with our members during the COVID-19 pandemic provided new challenges and opportunities,” said SCSBA Executive Director Scott Price. “I’m proud of the innovative communications work from our team during this unprecedented time.”
SC/NSPRA is an affiliate of the National School Public Relations Association. The state chapter is composed of over 155 school public relations practitioners, superintendents and other educational professionals from across the state.
