Company Investing $32 Million to Establish Charleston County Facility
CHARLESTON, SC – Sea Pac LLC, a company that specializes in transloading, warehousing, packaging, and logistics of plastic resins, is establishing operations in Charleston County. The $32 million investment is expected to create 50 new jobs initially and more than 200 in the next five years.
Established by Jon McClure last year, Sea Pac’s Lowcountry operations will be the company’s first. The company is constructing a 1.5-million-square-foot facility on 107 acres of undeveloped land on U.S. Highway 78 in Ladson, S.C. With civil engineering work already underway, McClure plans to build an export hub for plastic pellets that are used for consumer goods, from milk jugs to toys and cars.
In selecting the Palmetto State, the company cited South Carolina’s tremendous global connectivity, which features access to the nation’s most productive port.
