Sisters of Charity Foundation announces promotions

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has promoted three managers to directors.
Meredith Mathews has been named Program Director. She joined the Foundation as a project assistant in 2015 and was later promoted to program manager. Mathews earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia College, and she earned a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University. Mathews will oversee all grantmaking processes and internal learning, and she will staff the Foundation’s Grants Committee.
Chynna A. Phillips has been named Director of Policy and Research. Phillips joined the Foundation as a research and policy associate in 2016, and she was later promoted to research and policy manager. She will lead the Foundation’s public policy and advocacy work; working with government, philanthropic and community stakeholders across the state. Philips also will staff the Foundation’s Policy, Research and Communications committee. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Xavier University and a Masters of Social Work and Public Health from the University of South Carolina.
Ericka Wooten has been named Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She joined the Foundation as programs and initiatives manager in 2018. Wooten will staff the Foundation’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee and lead efforts to engage effectively with stakeholders across the state. Ericka received her bachelor’s degree from USC Upstate and her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
“I am very excited about these promotions and the tremendous gifts these women bring to the Foundation,” said Tom Keith, Foundation president. “They all are major contributors to our organizational success and I look forward to watching their continuous growth in the future.”
