This year’s grant recipients serve all 46 counties in South Carolina, and many of these nonprofits provide services across the state.
Since 1996, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded over 1,100 grants to South Carolina nonprofits totaling over $81 million.
“The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is excited to announce grant funding for organizations affecting lasting and sustainable positive change across our state,” said Donna Waites, President of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. “These organizations are seeking innovative solutions to challenging problems throughout our communities, and we are proud to work alongside them in building a thriving South Carolina.”
These grants are awarded to nonprofits that are working to reduce poverty in South Carolina in one of three ways:
- Meeting the immediate needs of people experiencing poverty
- Breaking the cycle of poverty
- Working to change the systems that are drivers of poverty
Macon Lovelace, the Chairman of the Board of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, added, “We remain committed to meeting our mission of reducing poverty through responsible financial stewardship, leadership, and advocacy. It is an honor to support these organizations as we all work together to create a South Carolina where all people have the resources to thrive.”
