February 13, 2018

Lexington-based transportation professional, Anna Salvagin, Sr. Program Manager, AECOM, will be joining future transportation industry leaders from across the globe for the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s (IBTTA) 2018 Leadership Academy, February 11-16, in Washington, D.C.

“As conversations at the federal and state-level focus on how to build, maintain and pay for world-class transportation infrastructure, we are proud to be bringing together the best and brightest poised to lead the tolling and transportation industry into the future,” said Tim Stewart, IBTTA President and Executive Director and CEO of Colorado’s E-470 Public Highway Authority.

Selected through a competitive application process, the 36 attendees will participate in an intense, one-week course taught by internationally recognized toll industry leaders, business partners and educators.

“This week-long Leadership Academy is designed to prepare today’s tolling executives with a deep-understanding of the multifaceted business of tolling,” said Patrick D. Jones, Executive Director and CEO, IBTTA.  “As states and localities continue utilizing toll-based transportation funding at a record-breaking rate, it is essential the industry equip our future leaders with a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of user-financed transportation systems.  IBTTA’s Leadership Academy helps prepare these leaders with the skills and knowledge to keep the driving-public moving forward and enhance mobility for all our customers.”

The curriculum is designed to include all facets of toll agency operations including administration, finance, marketing, customer service, communications, business development and board relations.

“The rigorous coursework during the five-day Academy and the ability to learn from the other future leaders offer an exciting opportunity for personal growth,” said Anna Salvagin. “I look forward to networking with peers from around the globe to expand the role tolling can play to develop long-term, sustainable transportation solutions.”

IBTTA’s Executive Development Program is directed by Dr. Barbara K. Gannon, Psy.D., who has designed and delivered education and training programs in the transportation sector for more than 20 years.
