Experience Live Music Under the Stars at the State Museum’s New Concert Series

The South Carolina State Museum unveiled its new Constellation Concert Series, offering an evening of live music in the Boeing Observatory on Thursday, October 10, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. This exciting event will feature Bluegrass band The Wilder Flower, known for their rich blend of Folk, Americana, Bluegrass, and Old-time influences. While typically performing as a trio, they will be showcasing their talents as a guitar and banjo duo for this special night.

In addition to the musical performance, attendees will have the opportunity to view the night sky through the observatory’s historic 1926 Alvan Clark Telescope, weather permitting. Guests can also enjoy a panoramic view of Columbia from the observatory terrace.

The Wilder Flower is celebrated for their original songs and tunes, which are thoughtfully arranged to highlight their distinctive instrumental style. Their performance promises to offer a fresh and engaging experience for all.

This new event series will return in January and February 2025. Musical guests for those dates will be announced soon. Don’t miss this unique chance to enjoy an evening of music and stargazing at the South Carolina State Museum.

Tickets for the Constellation Concert Series are priced at $25 for the general public and $20 for museum members. Wine and beer will be available for purchase, and complimentary light snacks will be provided.
